5 Tips for Writing a Bridesmaid Speech
Let's jump right to it; in this article you will get 5 golden
tips for writing a bridesmaid speech. These tips will give you a
general idea of what is most important in your toast, and will help
you write that unforgettable speech that everyone will keep talking
about. This is a very good way to make the bride and the groom
happy, and shows your friend was right in choosing you as her maid
of honor.
Tip 1: The beginning
Now you have to remember, that even though you might be a close
friend or in family with the bride and groom, chances are that not
all the guests at the wedding will know who you are. So start by
making an announcement with who you are, and your relation to the
bride. This is a very good way to start your speech, so everybody
knows who you are.
Tip 2: Be careful with humor
Humor is a killer in every bridesmaid wedding speech; but be
careful. It would be very bad to over-do this part of you speech,
as you can easily embarrass or humiliate the bride, groom or maybe
some guests. Also keep it sober for the kids, grandparents and
other guests.
Tip 3: Focus on the groom
When the best man makes his toast, he will usually take some time
off to compliment the bride. Make sure you do the same thing, to
show that the bride have found a great husband, and to show that
you really support the bride in her marriage.
Tip 4: Its not your day, but the bride's
When you make your bridesmaid wedding toast, remember that it is
the brides big day; she will probably only have one day like this
in her life, so make sure to communicate to the guests how lucky
she is, and hopefully, how happy she is on her big day. Again, it
would be a good idea to put some nice things and stories about the
groom and bride in your wedding speech.
Tip 5: Be a story-teller
Everybody loves good stories from the past. Make sure you find a
good story about your past with the bride, groom and maybe other
family members. Make it funny and cozy, so people with laugh but
also be a bit moved. This is a killer-tip for your wedding
toast.
