One for him, Two for her, Three for all
Whether you are a wine lover, a die-hard beer fanatic or simply
looking for the perfect 'his and her' duo, the Scott family's
stable of beverages can provide you with the perfect option to make
your special occasion a festive one. Take your pick from either of
the sparkling wines, or try Allan's son Josh's uniquely brewed Moa
Beer. They are full of festive bubbles and proudly bear the Allan
Scott family seal of approval. Allan Scott Wines & Estates Ltd
is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery group. The
company was founded in 1990 although the family's history in
winegrowing began in 1975 when they planted their first vineyard as
a contract grower. The winery is nestled amongst the prime
vineyards in Jackson's Road, Blenheim, surrounded by mature trees
and manicured gardens. The Cellar Door shop and Twelve Trees
Restaurant complete the facilities.
For those who are more partial to a vino, try Allan Scott's latest
sublime varietal - a deliciously refreshing Sparkling Sauvignon
Blanc that combines the class of Allan Scott's trademark Sauvignon
Blanc with the excitement of fine, long lingering bubbles. Defined
by a strong aromatic mix of limes, passionfruit and melon
intermingled with gooseberry and grassy notes, this promises to be
a summer favourite but would fit the bill at any time of
year.
Rosé lovers will delight in Les Joues Rouges Rosé Methode
Traditionelle NV. It's dry and full of the flavours of ripe
strawberries and raspberries. The pinot noir skins provide a bright
pink colour. Served well chilled, it's perfect as an aperitif and
matches beautifully with smoked salmon. If you can't stand to be
without a beer, then Moa might be just for you. A keen ale-lover
himself, Josh has been busy nurturing and perfecting his own
collection of unique, acclaimed brews. Available in a range of
sizes and distinctive flavours, Moa Beer is much like its namesake
in that it is an extremely rare-find. It is the only beer to be
fermented in the bottle, like French champagne, and crafted
somewhat eccentrically in a small rural brewery.
Regardless of whether you crave a refreshing wine or a crisp,
unique beer, these the perfect beverage complements for memorable
occasions. Used for a celebration, as an aperitif, or simply
enjoyed with friends on a lazy Sunday afternoon, the bubbles in
both beverages make for an exciting affair. Moa Beer retails at
$14.90 for a 750ml bottle, $44.90 for 3 x 750ml, $7.90 for a 375ml
bottle and $47.40 for 6 x 375ml. Allan Scott's Sparkling Sauvignon
Blanc retails at $19.99. Both brands are available from Glengarry
or leading liquor outlets, the Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc is found
at leading supermarkets.
