Sometimes a discount can be arranged if a number of guests stay at the same hotel, and/or you are using the hotel's reception facilities. Try and obtain cost information as early as possible so out of town guests can have an idea of overall costs and have a chance to budget for the wedding well in advance. Remember for the guests who are not local, weddings can become quite costly so a good idea is to present your guests (if possible) with a variety of accommodation in the area, at a variety of costs This way they can chose what suits them and their budget. Think about where you and your partners guests are coming from, you might find some live close to each other or on the way and can travel together. If they don't know each other, make sure you put them in contact before the wedding, this way they can share the travel costs and at least you won't be relying on so many different car loads to turn up on time! If you have a number of guests traveling from overseas or flying interstate, enquire about costs for a large travel group. Some airlines offer discounts for large groups such as wedding parties. Also if you do have friends or family coming from overseas, it might be a nice idea to buy them breakfast at their hotel or a bottle of champagne for their room as a token of appreciation for being part of your special day.
