Tips for your Wedding Suit Hire
Where to Start
To help with your initial planning, spend time browsing web
sites, some companies have a 'Virtual Model' section where you can
"select and dress" the model or mannequin as many times as you like
to find your preferred outfit.
When you are ready to select your suits, allow plenty of time
for trying on and deciding the right combination of suits and
accessories to compliment your bride, wedding party and style of
wedding. It is important to try suits on, not every style
will suit every body, seeing the suit on will be the only way to
see if it works for you. This should be a complimentary
fitting.
If any of your groomsmen, father of the bride and groom, ushers,
M.C., page Boy or family members are unable to attend the initial
fitting, they can measured at a later date at their
convenience.
When to Book Your Suit
Most hire companies will suggest that you book your suits 2-3
months before the wedding date to ensure that your garments are
available and for your peace of mind. This also allows time to have
garments made for you if you wish to purchase rather than hire,
often it is possible to hire suits for your wedding party and have
the same suit made for you to keep.
Out of Town and Late Arrivals
Do not be concerned if any of your wedding party is out of town.
For friends in other towns or countries, your hire company will
provide you with a measurement form either by email or on their web
site for them to fill in and return to the store where the suits
are booked.
A final fitting must be done when they arrive for the
wedding.
If you are planning an out of town or overseas wedding, please
discuss your individual requirements with the store concerned, not
all companies will allow their suits out of the country.
Accessories
Most hire companies have a range of accessories available for
hire as well as to purchase to help you achieve a style unique to
your wedding. If you wish to coordinate colours with your bride and
bridesmaids, take in samples of fabrics so you can match your
accessories with the wedding colours.
Some companies offer an accessory making service for ties, bow
ties, cravats, euro-ties, waistcoats and cummerbunds so you can
match exactly.
Collection
Your suits will be ready for collection on the day before your
wedding or a pre-arranged date. Confirm with your hire company when
they will be available for collection.
A final fitting should be done at this time. Alternatively, they
can be tried on at home if wedding party members are unavailable.
We recommend that this be carried out the day before the wedding to
ensure that everything is perfect for you.
If anything is not quite right it can be fixed before the big
day without creating stress.
Black Tie Weddings
A Black Tie Wedding is a great way to make your wedding an
outstanding occasion. If you are considering a Black Tie Wedding,
you may be able to arrange a discount with your suit hire company
for your guests.
Your wedding is a very special and unique day, following the
above steps will help make it a very memorable occasion for all the
right reasons.
